OPEN HOUSE 2020
You are cordially invited to attend the Julian Curtiss School’s annual OPEN HOUSE meeting on Wednesday, October 7th beginning at 5:30 p.m. The meetings will be virtual this year.
Open House gives you the opportunity to visit your child’s classroom, meet teachers, and receive important information about the instructional program. Since the purpose of the Open House is to give general information to ALL parents, teachers will not be able to answer specific questions about your child’s progress. Such individual questions are best handled at parent/teacher conferences, which are scheduled for December, or another date, which you can arrange with the teacher. We would really love to have full attendance of our families this year.
The schedule below allows parents to visit multiple teachers in one night. Each link will bring you to the teacher's Google meeting at the time posted. Parents can visit ALP or Special Education at 5:30 and still attend the homeroom open house time. There are also times to meet with your child(ren)’s special teachers such as Art, Music, PE, and Media. Every staff member has provided a time to visit.
We will have a help desk available run by our wonderful Media Technology Assistant, Anna Ripegno. If you are having technical difficulty please call the main number 203-869-1896 and we will be available to help.
We hope you enjoy the evening!
Together for Safety and Learning,
Mrs. Trish McGuire and Mrs. Brush

Technical Support for Virtual Open House
Welcome Señora Agashé!
Hola, I am Señora Jacqueline Agashé, and I’m excited to become the newest addition to the Greenwich World Language Program as a Spanish teacher at Julian Curtiss School! Spanish is my first language and I look forward to helping your child learn Spanish. I’m originally from Texas and graduated from Texas A&M University and I’m a proud Aggie. I started my teaching career as a 3rd grade bilingual Spanish teacher in Pasadena, Texas, and then taught kindergarten bilingual Spanish in Bridgeport, CT. Time flies when you love your career and I can’t believe this is my 10th year teaching. When I’m not teaching, I love playing chess, cycling along the Bronx River Pathway, and backpacking in US National Parks, Spain, Mexico, Costa Rica, Russia, and India. I’m happy and eager to now be a part of the Julian Curtiss School Family.
Remote Learning Transfers
Per Dr. Jones, Elementary transfers in/out of the remote learning school will be reviewed weekly on Mondays at 3:00 pm. The goal is to have students start their "new" class on the following Monday. Any change can take up to two weeks to fully process.
Until you receive district notification that the move is "official" the student will remain enrolled in their current placement. If a student is scheduled for in-school instruction but does not attend in-school learning in the interim, they will be provided work at home as they would receive if out for illness.
