Off the coast of California in the Pacific Ocean

Fishing managers that are overfishing sardines

Overfishing has allowed the sardine stock to get so low that it can't replenish itself. Sea lion cubs need the nutrition and fat found in sardines. Money is being spent to get the cubs healthy again and then putting them back into the sardine starved ocean.

Effects Of The Disaster

Any fishing on sardines now is overfishing because the stock is not being replaced. Some ocean predators are starving without sardines.
