Governor issues new executive order

Texas Governor Greg Abbott issued Executive Order GA-32 on Oct. 7 that will take effect on Wednesday, Oct. 14.

In summary, this Order 1.) opens bars at 50% capacity in certain state trauma regions, if the County Judge submits an approval form to the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC), 2.) increases maximum occupancy for most businesses to 75%, and 3.) continues to limit outdoor gatherings in a city to 10 persons, unless authorized by the Mayor.

Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins addressed the opening of bars on Twitter on Oct. 7, and said "[he] will not file [the approval form with TABC] to open [bars] at this time."
