From the Desk of Dr. Rodriguez
Next week, Teacher Appreciation Week will be celebrated across the country. Teachers are the heart and soul of any school. They take care of our students all day long; they plan lessons that reach every child; they think about how to give each student the best learning experience possible; and they are on a constant quest for the latest, greatest, and most effective teaching strategies out there. They are truly superheroes in every sense of the word. We'd like to take this opportunity to thank each and every member of our faculty and staff for their undeniable passion for education, their relentless pursuit of success for each child, their unwavering dedication to see every student happy and healthy, and their wonderful vision of what our future holds for all of us because of the children we teach. Teachers, we truly appreciate you for everything you do for our school and our students, so thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
Have a wonderful week, and make sure to tell your child's teachers just how much you appreciate them!
Sincerely,
Dr. Rodriguez

Field Trips in the Time of COVID
If we can't go to the national park, then the national park comes to us! For now, at least. The Virtual Learning Program from the National Park Service visited our fourth grade students “LIVE” this past Monday via zoom. Park Rangers Denise, Dylann, and Chris from the Everglades National Park talked about the geology, flora, and fauna of our wonderful state of Florida. Students also used what they learned in their rocks and minerals unit to recognize limestone and coral formations as well as create their own sedimentary rocks with layers of sand, pebbles, and a lot of glue. They thoroughly enjoyed compressing millions of years into 45 minutes. Thank you, Mr. Turner, for making sure our students appreciate the natural world around them!
