Hello Hollencrest Families!

I hope this week's edition of the Husky Update finds your family doing well. This week we have lots of information related to WCUSD's high school opportunities for incoming 9th-grade students and links to some important upcoming events for parents as well. Also, please share with your students that there will be a PTSA art contest running from 2/22-3/12. See below for more information.

8th to 9th Grade Enrollment

In an effort to streamline our high school enrollment process for our soon-to-be ninth-graders, the high schools in our district have developed a survey by which students and families can identify their high school of choice based on the three available options in the West Covina Unified School District.

Our high schools have asked that our current 8th-grade families, including a parent or guardian, complete this survey so that pre-enrollment activities can begin at each of the sites. The last portion of the survey requires an electronic parent signature, so please be sure to finish the survey in its entirety before clicking "submit".

Encourage your student to get ahead at Tutoring Hub!

Tutoring Hub is a free tutoring platform that is offered on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 2:30-3:30 PM.

Tutoring Hub is a teacher led- tutoring resource at which all students can have help and support in all subject areas.

Interested students should use the code provided by their teacher (or any other teacher) to join a session. If you need additional assistance, you can reach out to any of our office staff by calling the mainline at 626-931-1760 and we will be happy to assist you or your student with logging in. To make sure we can serve each student, sessions will have a soft cap on the number of students we will be able to service, so please make sure your student is logging in at the start of the session if attending.

Counseling Support

Any time is an excellent time for students to meet with their counselor to develop a game plan for success. If you would like to schedule a time with your student's counselor to develop a plan for the spring semester, contact them through ParentSquare or find them on our webpage, HERE.
