Comforting Cards for Valentines
Comfort Keepers of Southeast Texas
Beautiful Valentine Art by Local Kindergartners to Brighten a Senior's Day
With the help of creative Kindergartners from local Southeast Texas schools, Comfort Keepers of Southeast Texas is rolling out its annual “Comforting Cards for Valentines” program. Comfort Keepers is locally owned by Ryan and Ronda Harkey who have a son in Kindergarten who enjoys drawing for others. Last summer, their son learned about one of Comfort Keepers’ seniors who is a U.S. veteran and eagerly drew him a large U.S. flag card for his dad to deliver to the senior. The senior was truly blessed by the young man’s artwork, and their son enjoyed making the card to brighten the veteran’s day. A win-win for all. Building on the positive experience, it was a perfect fit to involve other Kindergartners in their son’s school as well as their nephew’s school and others with the idea to deliver Valentine cards to local seniors. The cards are truly creative works of art by five year olds eager to make something that will bring a smile to a senior’s face. If you know of a senior in Southeast Texas who would enjoy receiving a Comforting Card, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 409-813-2200 or look us up on Facebook at Comfort Keepers of Southeast Texas. Each senior submitted will receive a Comforting Card for Valentines.
