SHOUT OUT TO OUR POSITIVE REFERRALS FOR JACKSONVILLE CITY SCHOOL EMPLOYEES-WEEK OF MAY 13, 2019

Mrs. Hosmer-KSE

Mrs Stewart-KSE

I would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to the KSE Testing Team. These ladies work so hard behind the scenes to make sure testing happens for all KSE students. They have logged over 30 hours of testing/proctoring in the last two weeks as well as countless hours of makeup testing. I appreciate their willingness to help out in any way possible during the testing process!

A big THANK YOU to our KSE Testing Coordinator, Amanda Atchley.

RETIREMENT RECEPTION FOR JOAN KIRK-KSE

I appreciate the opportunity I have had for the past 15 years to love and care for the students in this great school system,

It has always been all about the kids! For me to be able to show some students the kindness and love for every day small things has been one of the greatest joys of my life! I hope that I truly did make a small difference in the lives of the kids and their parents! I tried to always treat each one with the love and compassion that I would want my children to get. I treated each child like they were my own. There are many wise and wonderful people who worked with me through the years. I think Leah Henderson has shared many golden words. I my be wrong, but I think it was Leah who told me these parents send us their best. They send us the best they have for us to teach and raise them. I hope that my attitude has always been kind and made each child know that someone really cares about them! Some kids have to go home to an empty house or maybe a house with a lot of people but nobody notices them! The best quote I know to apply to students is the one by Theodore Roosevelt. Nobody cares how much you know until they know how much you care.

Thank you for these wonderful, rich years. I feel like the richest woman in the world because my life is so full of wonderful people. My adult children have this running joke in our family. They say don't go to Walmart with Mom, you will run into her fan club. The small children and even teenagers come to give hugs and love when they see me out somewhere. I am so blessed to be a part of their lives.

Thank you all,

Joanie Kirk

Pathways Co-op Program Graduation Ceremony

The Anniston Army Depot held their Pathways Co-op program graduation ceremony on Wednesday, May 8. Jacksonville High School senior, Ammon Record, earned his completion certificate. He interned in electronics with instructors at the Depot as a Co-op student. Cooperative education, or work-based learning, provides our students with the confidence, soft skills, and preparation for the workforce that usually can't be replicated in the classroom. We appreciate the opportunity the Anniston Army Depot offers our students to earn while they learn.
