- Please start looking at the Continuing Teacher Academy Sessions in September, November and January. These sessions will help teachers to better understand many aspects of the system and are geared to specific development. Registration is open, click on the month for registration.
- Technology Student Association (TSA) is a program for students to compete and learn leadership development. The students will practice and perform many of the activities done in class. All students should have the opportunity to participate in this at some level. The chapter affiliation for national and state should be complete before Fall registration, which starts September 14 through the 23. The teacher will need to go to http://www.registermychapter.com/tsa/nat/ , general TSA membership information is linked here; tsaweb.org. Blue cap membership allows for all to participate for one cost of $400.00 and there is an event guide with soft skill curriculum for all to use in your classes. This membership can be purchased through incentive assistance money or with the 412 funding (currently $8850) that CareerTech sends for all STEM funded programs. Red cap is $130.00 and must be purchased with activity funds only, not with 412 funds because of limited membership of no more than 12 students. White cap is $130 for the first 12 students and $13 for each additional student. This cap must be paid from the activity account, 412 funds may not be used to purchase this type membership. Advisor membership is $10 on top of any of the below chosen.
- TSA Fall leadership registration September 14-23 this conference is for the officer team. Each program should bring 6 or so students from each chapter to this event. This event will help the student leaders understand TSA, what is expected in it and how to have an active chapter at your school.
- Fall leadership meetings are held at SWOSU on October 7 and at NSU on October 8. Your chapter should only attend the meeting in your region.
