The Gift from the French
The Statue of Liberty was designed by Frederic Bartholdi and dedicated on October 28, 1886. A robed female figure representing Libertas the Roman goddess of freedom, who bears a torch and a tabula ansata (a tablet evoking the law) upon which is inscribed the date of the American Declaration of Independence, July 4, 1776. The Statue was an icon of freedom and the United States; A welcoming signal to immigrants arriving from abroad. It is located in New York Harbor on Liberty Island. The height of the Statue of Liberty from ground to torch is 305 feet 1 inch (93 Meters).

The Statue of Liberty symbolizes our country, it brings us together. Our event starts at 9:30 am and ends at 12:30 pm on October 28, 1886.
