Catch-up & Relish
Do you have students that you relish their academic achievement or #WeAreWEST behavior? Please take time to call parents and/or send home a postcard.
During PLCs next week, please take time to make student contacts who need to catch-up or relish! Postcards and grade-level F lists will be available in the PLC room.
No More Ramen
No Pass Lists
To help combat our repeat offenders in the hallways we are developing "No Pass Lists" for each grade level. Each grade level principal is meeting with students to let them know they are on the list and should not be asking to leave the classroom. They should take care of restroom needs during lunch and passing periods. This list will be sent to all staff on Monday. Please do not write a pass for any student on this list. If you have a non-compliant student, please alert the appropriate grade level principal so we can address the student after class.
Tardy and Absence Clarification
Students should go to the attendance window for the following:
- Arriving to school after 8:15 AM
- Returning from an appointment
- Arriving more than 20 minutes late to class
- If a parent calls the student in
Students who are tardy to class within the first 20 minutes should be marked tardy by the classroom teacher. If you mark a student absent and they show up within the first 20 minutes, the teacher must update the attendance to accurately reflect the tardy.
Please do not send students to the attendance window for a pass unless it is past this 20 minute mark, or the student shows up as absent in Infinite Campus.

Hallways and Passes - Sub plans
Please update your sub plans with this information so subs are aware of our hallway procedures.
Close Reading - Invite Admin in for Observations
This researched-based strategy is effective in all content areas. For the rest of this year, each teacher should invite an administrator in to watch a Close Reading lesson. We are collecting walk-through data around this strategy 6-12 across the District.
When you implement this strategy please send an invitation to April and/or your evaluator. All teachers should send an invitation at least two times before the end of the year.
If you need more support in implementing this strategy, please reach out to Kristen or Tyson.
