Finally, GJCS will present Screenagers at the Astra Theater on Wednesday, February 8th beginning at 6 pm. This documentary discusses the difficulties of youth growing up in a world with social media.

Senior Portraits for Yearbook
- We will gladly use your senior’s school portrait if you feel it is acceptable.
- If you haven't scheduled photos yet, it might be too late to get photos from our local professionals, but there are several amateur photographers we can send you that would be glad to take nice senior photos for a very reasonable price or possibly free. Even some of our talented yearbook staff members might be able to help.
- Please, talk to me before trying to turn in photos from a phone or someone that just "has a nice camera".
Now for the details: (These are the same details sent to students in October)
Your senior needs to choose up to 2 photos.
Have your student talk to their photographer, they (most likely) were already sent a link to a submission website. DO NOT JUST SEND ME PHOTOS! If your child’s photographer is from out of town, and/or did not get the private submission link in their email, please let me know so I can contact them directly.
-The first will be a vertical portrait used in the yearbook and media outlets such as The Herald.
It needs to be a professional-looking photo that is appropriate for school and public viewing. NO cars, trucks, pets, or other "props" should be used in this photo.
-The second will be a horizontal photo that is used on the big screen for our graduation ceremony. This photo can show a little more "personality" and is totally optional.
Both should be free of watermarks and a large enough resolution for print, which is a big reason why your senior’s photographer will be submitting for them. Screenshots from a phone or photos saved from a photographer's website without permission ARE NOT AN OPTION.
-The absolute deadline is February 14th. But we'd LOVE to see them turned in before that! (see what we did there?) So have your senior talk to their photographer soon about their choices.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Mr. Elrod!
