Drop Off & Pick Up Reminders
Morning:
- Students are welcome to come wait on the sidewalk anytime after 8:30 AM, or sooner if Mrs. Champion (or another staff member) is outside. There is not adult supervision prior to this time.
- Please pull all the way up when dropping off students.
- Students should only get out of cars in the drop off line along the sidewalk.
- Do not park or get out of your car in the drop off/pick up line. You may park in a parking spot and walk up if needed.
Afternoon:
- We are only allowing students to get into cars at the beginning of the line where we have a designated waiting area (first 4-5 cars). This will support our student safety and keep things moving.
- Do not park or get out of your car in the pick up line. If needed, you can park in a parking spot to make any adjustments.
- Please let the office know by 2:00 PM if any changes to end of the day transportation need to happen.
From The Principal
We are wrapping up Week 3 of the 2022-2023 school year! Another wonderful week with sunny weather. Last week we had a few bumps in the road with a power outage and heavy rain during drop off, but our Emmons Lake Eagles rocked it and remained patient and flexible!
In addition to our focus on our SOAR expectations in the building, we are also implementing Capturing Kids' Hearts. We are proud to announce that our Emmons Lake staff was trained this summer in Capturing Kids' Hearts. Caledonia Community Schools has invested in training ALL staff across the district because we all believe in establishing an environment where every student feels valued. We are collaborating to build a high-performing school culture where students know they are loved and are challenged to grow.
Here are some questions you can ask your child:
- How are you greeted each morning at school? How does it make you feel?
- What are Good Things from your day? Did you do Good Things in class?
- What is your class Social Contract? How do you use a Social Contract at school?
- Who are you connected to at school? Who at school do you trust?
We look forward to sharing more "Good Things" with Capturing Kids' Hearts at Emmons Lake.
Your Principal,
Dana Champion-Wigfield

Lending Locker: We are in need of gently used clothing (shorts, pants, tops) to add to our lending locker for student to use when they need to change due to accidents, weather, or other various reasons. If you have a donation, please send it in or drop it off with a note that says "Lending Locker".
