Regulation 661-1
Regulation 661-1 Assessment and Grading Practices-Elementary
This is a transition regulation with the purpose of refocusing where we want people to shift their thinking. Our leadership team will be reviewing the draft for this regulation on Thursday and your team lead will update you after the leadership team discusses the draft. A copy of the draft will be given to leadership team members prior to the meeting on Thursday for review.
DRA Assessments
Thank you very much for your feedback regarding preferences for DRA Assessments. All DRA Assessments will be given this spring as that is the requirement of the PWCS Language Arts Department. I mentioned the option of spring/fall and then realized that it is required in the spring. My apologies...Moving forward, we are going to do our best to accommodate teams as they have recommended which means that we are doing things differently in almost every grade level. We will discuss this with each team during CLT meetings this week...
Fire Drill Update (EXITING with Construction)
The goal is always to exit as safely and efficiently as possible out of the nearest exit...If all classes that exit the 1st/2nd hallway and the 3rd/4th hallway shift their location outside towards the field (away from the bus loop) then we should be able to accommodate everyone while remaining in compliance. Kindergarten students will be exiting to the right, ending up in the grassy middle section directly in the front of the building where PE and office staff members go during fire drills...Weather permitting, we will try this without the alarm on Wednesday morning after announcements...This way, Ashlee and I can see how we all fit and what adjustments need to be made. We will make an announcement for everyone to exit via the intercom but we will not pull the alarm for this exercise. Students should still exit quietly as though this is a real event...
