A Note from Mrs. Lake
Hello Grassy Creek Families,
Happy November!
We celebrated our students who sold over $400 in our candle fundraiser today by taking them on a bowling party. We are thankful to all students and families who took part in this fundraiser. We raised over $14,000! This money will be used to purchase items for students and teachers to use in the classroom and for special activities throughout the year. Special thanks to Mrs. Kaiser, a former teacher, who volunteers to run this fundraiser annually.
Our third graders will be hosting a music performance on Tuesday, November 12. Students in the following classes will perform at 6:00 p.m. Mrs. Groeber, Mr. Oldham, and Miss Hatfield.
Students in the following classes will perform at 6:45 p.m. Miss Byrne, Ms. Nuhfer, and Mrs. Snead. All Grassy Creek families and friends are invited to attend.
Please make sure your children are prepared to go outside as the weather gets cooler. We go outside unless the temperature or windchill is 15 degrees or below.
Thank you for your support,
Mrs. Trina Lake, Principal

Grassy Creek Elementary Visitor Procedures
Clark-Pleasant Community School Corporation understands how fortunate we are to be a part of an ever-expanding community. We invite the members of our community to enrich our students' learning experience and assist in enhancing the quality of our students education by volunteering. Clark-Pleasant also realizes the importance of maintaining the safety of our students and appreciates the community’s support as we strengthen our security protocols.
In a continuous effort to increase and improve school safety, we have implemented an additional layer of security to access our schools and students on campus. We have been testing a new visitor management system at two of our schools and plan to have a system in place by the beginning of the school year. All visitors and volunteers will still be required to check in at the front office; however, visitors will be required to complete a screening process upon entry. They will need to provide a government issued photo ID (drivers license, military ID, etc) that will be ran against the National Sex Offender Registry.
Examples of activities in the school that will require a visitor to present government issued photo ID are listed below (but not limited to):
● Lunch Guests
● Classroom Parties/Special Events (e.g. Grandparents Day)
● Parent/Teacher Conferences
● Classroom Guest Speakers
All visitors/volunteers will be issued a badge that is to be worn while on campus at all times. This additional layer of security will not only enhance our current entrance security, but will also assist in ensuring all visitors and volunteers have been authorized to be in our buildings.
Volunteers will be required to complete a Volunteer Application Consent Form and a Criminal History Background Check. There will be a minimal fee of $12.95 to complete this check which is valid for three years. Individuals applying to be volunteers should complete this process at least 10 days prior to the date they wish to volunteer.
Examples of activities that will require a Criminal History Background Check are listed below (but not limited to):
● Field Trip Chaperones
● Volunteer Coaches
● Tutoring/Mentoring
● Classroom Volunteers/Helpers/Room Parents
● PTO Volunteers
● Book Fair Sales/Athletic Ticket Sales
Clark-Pleasant Community School Corporation thanks you for your continued support in helping us keep our students and campuses safe.
