Breakfast At Highlands

Students who want to purchase breakfast in the cafeteria before school are more than welcome! Students may get breakfast starting at 8:15am and must be finished eating and be outside by 8:35am. Students will want to plan their morning accordingly, so we can ensure all students are ready to go to class at the bell.

Election Polling Location

Highlands is a polling location for the upcoming election. The school will have additional security measures in place that day (Tuesday, November 8). Mrs. Moore will work with teachers to accommodate library classes outside of the Library. The hallway doors will all be closed and all students will need to avoid the main entrance area. Teachers will take their students around the building to access lunch and specials. If a student needs to see the nurse or come to the office for an appointment, etc., teachers will call the office and someone will meet the student in the hallway to escort them. Classroom doors will be locked and closed.

Student Pick Up for Appointments

If you plan on picking your student up for an appointment during the school day, please call ahead. We will do our best to have your student ready to go, waiting in the foyer for their pickup. If you are not getting out of the car to pick up your students, please pull up closest to the front doors so they don’t cross the parking lot without supervision.

Calling in Absences

If your student is going to miss school, please excuse their absence(s). To do so, please call the attendance line, (208) 854-5050, and leave a message excusing the absence, or email Carla Cerchione at Carla.Cerchione@boiseschools.org as well as your student's teacher.

If you plan on taking your student out of school for an extended amount of time, please consider the district's attendance policy (9 absences per semester). You will want to notify your student's teacher and the office well before the scheduled absences occur.

We love having volunteers in our building! Thank you for your time, help, and support! If you are heading to Highlands to volunteer, please follow the steps below:

  • Check in at the office to receive your badge
  • Bring your driver’s license if you have not been scanned in before

  • Please be sure to check out at the office. If someone is not in the office, please leave your tag on the counter by the check in window
