Principal's Message
Wow, this year is flying by! I can’t believe that we are in November! Things are chugging along here at Lincoln. It has surely been a joy watching the successes from each and every grade.
Lately, the amazing Kindergarteners have given me “goose pimples” when I walk in and I hear them reading! I was also proud of their beautiful interpretations of the spooky gingerbread houses they built. The Full Value Agreement is displayed daily in the First grade classroom. It is inspiring to see how well this group shows off teamwork - they could teach the Lions a thing or two! The Second graders have been working hard on number bonds and expanded forms of numbers, which is “music to my ears.” They have also been talking about idioms, which is not always “a piece of cake” or “a walk in the park.” I couldn’t be more proud of their efforts these past two weeks.
I know I say this a lot… but we truly have the best students in the world. Especially writing students! Boy can Lincoln students write! I tell you this is something to cherish! The Third graders showed off their writing skills last week with descriptive writing using similes! They are like mini Dr. Seusses! They are like Picassos! The trees they painted to go with their writing are truly pieces of art! The Fourth graders wrote animal reports recently and they are some of the most informative and interesting reports I have ever read. Thanks to Lachlan, I now know the largest recorded raccoon was 26 pounds, and thanks to Keaton, for teaching me that a snow leopard can jump up to 40 feet in the air. Finally, the Fifth graders have also been writing with great vigor and thoughtfulness. I have enjoyed reading their fall detail pieces and also learning about some interesting dreams! Keep up the great work Lincoln!
A lot of cool things are happening here at Lincoln. Learning doesn’t only happen in the classroom, but also with the support staff and Essentials teachers - even at Recess! Everyone works hard to make it fun. They create amazing moments for learning. Keep up the great work Lincoln and we shall grow immensely!
Just some housekeeping thoughts to share with everyone:
Please look at the PTO Holiday Greenery Sales!
Pick-up parents who walk their kids across the roads: Please honor our hard working safety patrollers! We have been learning about safety and leadership. If you are able please let them cross you. I truly appreciate your help with this. On that note, please keep sharing shout outs with me for students who are doing well at their posts!
