Celebrating Holy Week

Grades 6, 7, and 8 are very excited to invite you to our Holy Week skits. Scenes will depict several of the events that took place during Jesus' return to Jerusalem.

We will gather at the flagpole each day except Thursday when we'll gather at the sliding hill across from the foot bridge. All of the skits will start at 8:30 am.

Holy Monday ... Jesus in the Temple

Holy Tuesday ... Sermon on the Mount

Holy Thursday ... Last Supper

Good Friday ... Stations of the Cross

Attention 8th Grade Parents

Remember to submit your favorite baby picture of your 8th grader for their yearbook. Be sure to include a special note, too. Please email pictures and any questions to Mrs. Curran Friday, April 15.

Top 5 ways to enjoy the best lawn party of the year - BASH 2022

1. Invite everyone you know - friends and family - this isn't just for BJAMS folks.

2. Carpool - half the cost of gas and twice the fun getting there.

3. Schedule a sitter now.

4. Dress for success - wear your best Vermont casual attire so you can get serious with that corn hole game.

5. Bring your cell phone and wallet - an incredible silent auction full of amazing packages. On-line bidding only.

Do you have your own lawn games? We would love for you to bring them along to help ensure ample game time for all. We're looking for KanJam, Goodminton, Bocce Ball, Cornhole, etc.

Please contact Michelle Tomlinson to let her know which game(s) you can share.

Walking Evacuation Practice

The 4th and 7th graders were led by Mrs. Semprebon and Mr. Buczek on a first-ever 'on foot' evacuation practice this week. Students walked from the edge of the BJAMS property on a footpath to the New Beginnings Church and rallied at the gazebo there. Thank you to our neighbors!

In the event students must evacuate the school - flood, noxious fumes, locusts - this is a safe and practical option that does not require transportation. The weather cooperated and all went to plan. Practice makes proficient!

3/4 Girls Lax Update

We are excited for 3/4 girls to learn lacrosse, and even though we don’t have the numbers to field a team for jamboree, we will still have practices and learn the game!

Starting after April Break:

Tuesdays and Saturdays 3:15-4:15pm

If you need to borrow gear we can loan out sticks and eye protection. Please contact Katie Marvin at katiemarvin@live.com

See you there!

Strep Throat Alert

We learned of a case of strep throat this week in the lower school. Please be on the lookout for the following symptoms - which may be mild to severe:

Fever - good indicator, but not always present - may have chills

General ill feeling - headache, nausea, loss of appetite

Complaints of sore throat - it may hurt to swallow and there may be white patches

Tender glands in the neck

Untreated, strep can lead to serious complications. Strep throat is treated with antibiotics which should be taken as prescribed even if symptoms improve. BJAMS' policy is that your student must be on antibiotics for at least 24 hours before returning to school.

Please consult your family doctor with any questions or concerns you may have regarding strep throat.
