We Did It!
Dear Broadmoor Families,
I wrote to you on March 17th and I honestly didn't know what this fourth quarter would bring. As the BES Principal and parent, I asked for your patience and trust. I made assurances to you that we would do everything in our power to make fourth quarter matter. I assured you that we would work together to do our Broadmoor Best to give our kids learning opportunities and memories. Together, we did it!
Looking back, I am brought to tears when I think of all of the cooperation, collaboration and planning your teachers have done. Not only have they supported the students during this time, but they have supported each other. Whether it was through weekly lunch meetings, teaching each other about Zoom and Google Classroom, or just reaching out with a phone call. I can reiterate what I wrote on March 17th: The BES Family is stronger than ever.
I am also in awe of you. Thank you for trusting us. Thank you for supporting us. You have no idea what it meant to see your texts, emails, and posts during this time. None of this could have happened without your home support. You worked with our children. You reached out with questions or even guidance for our school staff. You shared the fruits of your labor. You set the example for our children of resilience and courage. You showed them that even when life is tough, there are ways to make it all work. The lessons our children and we are learning during this time will last a lifetime.
Now, I will make new promises to you. I promise that over the summer, we will be working on plans for next school year. We will again collaborate and use the guidance from our state department of education in order to keep our children safe and learning. We will make sure that in the fall, we are taking care of what our children need. Not just with their academics, but also their social-emotional needs as well. We do not know what tomorrow brings, but together we can handle it. I am certain of that!
Again, I thank you for your continued support. Have a great summer and we will see you in August!
