So much to see and do!
We are excited to have our Mathews Mavericks Facebook page. We invite all our families to click the 'like' button so you can see some of what is going on at Mathews. This is our official page for our school and we want to thank Kristin Woodard for heading this up for our campus!
BOOK FAIR is next week! You could hear the squeals of delight from students and teachers alike seeing our book fair return. More news below!
Spirit Night is actually a week long with Paint 'N' Party. We hope you will check it out as well.
In the spirit of giving we are collecting new water bottles, socks and winter jackets for little ones (2T through age 5).
Our Drink Water Challenge begins this week as well. Information can be found below as we continue to learn how to make healthy choices in our lives.
Nurse Allen has helpful information on healthy snacks so be sure to check out her newsletter below as well!
We also have information about our upcoming History Fair as well as lots of information from our district regarding the Virtual Academy for the 2022-23 school year, Exploring Pathways to College and Careers and of course the CLARK CHEER CLINIC.
It is also a time of appreciation. Our staff wants to thank our PTA for welcoming us back from fall break in such a warm and thoughtful way! Sweet treats and lunch today. You warm our hearts! Thank you!

TRANSFER REQUEST FOR 22-23 6TH GRADERS
SAVE THE DATE! Be One of the First...
2022-2023 Intra-District Transfer Requests
- ALL grades: Kindergarten - 12th
- Transfer requests accepted beginning January 4, 2022
The Intra-District Transfer Request process will begin January 4th at 8:00 am. At that time, please visit https://www.pisd.edu/transfer to receive an online tracking number. Once you have obtained your online tracking number, you will receive instructions detailing how to submit your transfer request electronically.
The window for you to receive your online tracking number, and submit your request, will close on January 7th at 5:00 pm.
- If you fail to submit your request during the January 4th through January 7th window, your request will be processed on a first come, first serve basis after the others are processed.
Out-of-District Transfers
Plano ISD will open to out-of-district transfers, by application, for the 2022-2023 school year. Please refer to our website beginning April 1st for more information regarding this transfer process.
Transfer requests accepted beginning April 18, 2022 for Out-Of District Transfers.
BOOK FAIR!
Book Fair is Back!
The PTA is excited to share the following updated information regarding our upcoming book fair:
This year the book fair will once again be physically on campus in the library. Our students will be shopping or looking at books during their designated class visit schedule.
Book Fair Dates: December 6th - 10th
Hours: Mon, Weds, Thurs 8:30 - 11:30 am, Tues 8:00-11:30 am, Fri 8:30am - 10:30am
While we will not have parents come to school to shop with their student(s) for this book fair, class visit volunteers will be able to come into the building, limited to 3 per class.

Book Fair Certificates
The financial effects of Covid 19 has put a financial hardship on many families.
If your student would like to have a book from the book fair and you are unable to purchase a book for them, at this time, please contact the school counselor, at Lauren.toler@pisd.edu.
Gift certificates can be provided for students from the PTA, so that each child is able to have the opportunity to have a new book if they want to.
December 7-12: Paint 'N' Party!
Mark your calendars for our December spirit event at Paint’N’Party the week of December 7th - 12th.
The holiday season is the perfect time to create a memory and spend quality time with family and friends.
Make a group reservation, book a birthday party, ladies night or private event. Walk-ins welcome!
Prefer to paint at home? Take & Paint kits available for curbside pick up. They make a great holiday activity that the whole family can enjoy together.
Don't forget to mention Mathews! A portion of the proceeds goes back to our school.

HISTORY FAIR!
It is time once again to prepare for the Elementary History Fair. Though participation in this
annual event is voluntary, we want to encourage interested students to take advantage of
this opportunity to exhibit their knowledge and understanding of history.
Please complete and return the form below to your child’s classroom teacher if he or she is
interested in participating.
Your child will receive the History Fair Student Handbook from the campus fair chairperson.
This book has specific information about rules governing the judging of projects. Please be
aware that all decisions of the History Fair judges are final.
Mathews History Fair:
- All projects will be due on Monday, March 21, 2022 by 7:45am!
- The Fair will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2022.
- Results will be announced on Wednesday, March 23, 2022.
