💪Working together to resolve concerns
In the Sept. 19 newsletter, I shared the Superintendent's Advisory Council would meet Oct. 24 to review concerns of broad interest to the families and students we served.
Past topics have included concerns for youth mental health, communication, etc. The Council, as well as school Parent Advisory Councils, are one of the many ways we engage and involve parents and community members.
You are welcome to provide topics, too! You can contact a council member directly or use the link below.

🚨Safety update: Drills, AED, Stop the Bleed
Student and staff safety is important. Here are some updates about efforts under way.
💔 AED Packs - Thanks to a grant we are able to provide automated external defibrillator (AED) packs at every school. Our trained staff can use AEDs to help those experiencing sudden cardiac arrest.
🩸 Stop the Bleed - Thanks to another grant our schools are receiving "Stop the Bleed" training and kits. In the photo above, you will see the training provided by Kuna/Swan Falls high schools EMT teacher Jessica Anno and her former student KHS Alum Maddie Lovelady (Maddie works as an EMT for Victory EMS in Boise). Did you know? When someone is severely bleeding, they can bleed to death in as little as 5 minutes. Bleeding control -- keeping the blood inside the body -- is the purpose of the training and this nationwide effort to save lives.
🔒 Drills - This month students and staff practice lock down procedures. (See video below.) Lockdown is one of four key procedures and commands we use in emergencies. The others are: Evacuation, Reverse Evacuation, and Hallcheck. Learn more here about our safety procedures here.
➡️ High School conferences Thursday
💖 We loved welcoming our elementary families for conferences this week to discuss our students' progress.
