Principal's Message

Madeira Elementary Families,

Thank you for taking a few minutes to read through this newsletter. We have had a great first few days with students. I am excited to have all of our KIndergarten students together on Monday.

This week is a busy week for students and staff- a full week, warm temperatures, and Meet the Teacher Nights for grades 1,2, and 3. Please know that we will meet as a grade level in the cafeteria on those nights and then we will head to your child's classroom.

Thank you for your patience and support as we work through the various systems of our day(arrival, lunch, dismissal) the students and staff are doing a wonderful job and we will continue to improve.

If I can do anything to help support your child, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.

Chris Flanagan

Arrival/Dismissal Information

MES Families,

Here is some information to help with arrival and dismissal.

  • School Doors open at 8:45
  • Car Riders enter the building through the playground doors.
  • Please have your child on the passenger side of the car for safety(arrival and dismissal).
  • School start time is 9:00
  • Bus Riders enter through the front of the building.
  • School ends at 3:30
  • Please know that the more consistent you are with afterschool plans for your student, the more successful and confident they are. It is hard when there is a large amount of variation to their schedule.
  • Have your student(s) name/number taped to the passenger side front window. This expedites the process to get students to their cars.

By now your child should have brought home a sheet of paper with your child's name and a number on it with instructions for our dismissal car line. If you have not located that paper and you plan to pick up, please drop an email to Stephanie Welt at and she will email it to you.
