CCES Weekly Newsletter

For the week of: May 23rd

The last full week of school is upon us. I have had such a great time with the students this year.

These last few days of school are going to be busy and we will be sharing end-of-year information with everyone.

Registration for the 2022-2023 school year is now open. If you are planning on attending Coal City schools next year, make sure to go to our district website and register your student(s) for next year:

It is best to use a computer as most tablets and cellphones do not support the online school form software. Fees need to be paid by September 1st and can be paid through EZSchool Pay.

Have a great weekend!

School Buses

Please talk with your students about school bus safety and following the rules on the bus:

  • stay in seats
  • no screaming
  • hands and feet to self
  • no eating or drinking
  • wear a mask at all times

The bus drivers have a very important job of getting the students to and from school safely and distractions need to be kept to a minimum.

Drop-Off and Pick-Up Procedures

  • Remember W. Second Street is a one way street going east.
  • Drop off and pickup will be on the south side of the building on W. Second Street. For the safety of all of the children that are being dropped off and picked up, please pull into the no parking zone (parallel to the road) and let your child exit the vehicle. We ask that you then exit the spot and pull forward onto the street again. Parents should not be exiting their vehicle this year, as it will be a continuous drop and go lane.

  • Pickup will also be along W. Second Street. It will be a pick up and go as well. There will be no parking, so the first several cars will be pulling into the no parking zone and waiting until dismissal. From there, cars will fill in as cars leave. Teachers will be out with their classrooms making sure that students are getting into their parents vehicle in a safe manner.

The Coal City PSO is looking for parents to assist with various activities and attend meetings. The PSO does so many great things for our schools including funding end of the year activities, providing various supplies and giving opportunities for families to engage outside of school hours. Please consider giving a little bit of your time to help out this organization. We are so thankful for all that they do!

Backpack Program

The Coal City Backpack Program is a non-for-profit organization that offers food to families in need at no cost. Students are given a bag of food to take home twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays. The bag of food is discretely place in the student's backpack. You can find more information at the following link:
