The form for ordering a shirt is attached to this email.

FIELD TRIP

We will be visiting The Perot Museum of Nature and Science on Wednesday, March 2. We will leave OCT at 9:00am and return around 1:30pm. We will be at the museum from 9:45-1:00pm. Any and all parents, grandparents or other relatives are more than welcome to attend. Since you will be directly involved with OCT children, we ask that all chaperones complete the GCISD Background Check. It takes a couple of weeks to process so if you are chaperoning and have not complete one yet do so asap.

You can complete it at http://www.gcisd-k12.org/page/474

Admission is $5 and will be purchased at the museum the day of the field trip. Due to limited bus space all chaperones will need to meet us at the museum. Feel free to carpool to save on parking cost:) If you plan on attending the field trip, please let me know so that I can arrange small groups. Remember this is a special day for you to spend quality time with your child. It will be best if younger siblings do not come if at all possible.

GIFTED AND TALENTED PROGRAM

GCISD Advanced Academics is now accepting referrals for Gifted and Talented Program Services for grades 1-4. Please access the application for GT LEAD and/or ASPIRE Academy for the Highly Gifted in each campus office or on the Advanced Academics page: Please Click on the Blue Badge Applications must be returned no later than February 26 to your campus office or GT Specialist.

4th Grade Labels for Education PBL

How can we as fourth graders encourage other grade levels to collect Labels for Education so that the winners can benefit from their participation? Our school is coming together to collect Labels for Education in partnership with 4th grade‛s math-centered PBL. Your child can participate by collecting labels from the following products: Bic , Campbell's, Pace, Prego, Pepperidge Farm, Swanson, V8, V8 Splash and V8 V-Fusion. The grade level that collects the most will win a Visa gift card to use for their classes. These labels are due by March 4th .
