Thought to Ponder
----Kelly This from Blog last year
Dates to Know
I need to meet with your grade level for 30 minutes between the 30th and the 8th. We will close out Tier 1 paperwork for this year. I am going to give you final data results. I can answer any questions about purple folder close out. Talk together and put the 30 minute time slot on the calendar below. I know a lot is going on but we need to get that closed out.
You will also need to sign up with me for a one on one meeting before you leave to go over all purple folders and turn them into me. Please sign up for the time on the same calendar below. I will try to keep things updated for when I am unavailable.
We will have a final Data meeting as a staff on June 12th first workday. This will be to have a look at school data and brainstorm our areas of strength and weakness. This is important because it will help drive the school goals for next year and begin our Tier 1 paperwork for 2017-2018. We may have a cookout prior to this as a staff--more details will come based on the Retirement Party Plans.
If you see any event that is missing on this calendar. Please add it so we are all on the same page.

Purple Folder Close Out
I know this information comes EARLY but wanted you to know what was expected of purple folders. As you complete testing on students with Tier paperwork--you can begin to close out folders.
Update the plan with most recent results from testing. K-2 can begin this process now. Unfortunately, 3-5 will not be able to do this without EOG results. Determine whether the student will stay on Tier 2 or 3 OR move back to Tier 1. You will then meet or have a phone conference with parents to discuss the next steps.
Will the child stay on Tier paperwork?
What is their deficit skill to focus on at the beginning of the year?
How can the parent help at home this summer?
Send follow up letter and put copy in folder.
Record updated testing information and have Tier paperwork signed or have a phone conference. Send this letter and make a copy to include in the purple folderwhich documents we have informed the parent on their child’s progress.
2. Organize the purple folder in this manner:Demographic Sheet for this year filled out in its entirety. However, if there is a Demographic sheet from the year before--you can update this form with the newest testing data and contact information.
- Tier paperwork
- Parent End of Year Letter
- Intervention logs
- Student summaries, progress monitoring graphs or other data you may have collected
***Include all MTSS forms you have from this year including social history,
observations, screening, parent invitations or other important documents from this
year for the child.
*Clip these together for this year. Put this year on top and previous years behind.
3. Meet with Kelly to turn in folders and discuss next year steps. She will sign your end of the year check sheet at this time.

Curriculum WOWs in the Building
- Great Learning and fun in 1st grade! Bubble Day! Watermelon Day! Love the creativity and activities to get students engaged and moving during these long days!
- Continued Stamina training for EOG testing! Determination is as important as skill in any competition or battle!
- 3rd grade wrapping up portfolios! Thanks Ladies!
- Character trait discussion in Cooper's class! Love that you are relating words to their lives and what they know! Powerful connections!
- Tara, Tiffany, and Heather--very explicit instruction with TREASURE! Love that you explain the why behind the steps. I heard a small pirate answer to the question--Do you really have to ...? "Yes, because it is part of TREASURE!" It make my heart happy to see his understanding that expectations are there for a reason.
- Thank you to new 3-5 teachers for jumping into EOG motivation and expectations--I know these are different from other schools and we are happy that you have joined us for the fun!
- 2nd grade--thanks for conversation to brainstorm new ideas. As a school--as we think of things differently--we will find new ways to solve old problems. Thanks!
- Kindergarten--Reading 3D is complete!
- 2nd grade already thinking of next year and getting ideas together! Thanks Ladies!
- Great EOG Kick Off--Thanks for the hard work all of you put into that! The kids loved it and will always remember it! Our guest speaker was a treat and I know it really hit home for some of our students! Thank you!
- EOG TEST BUSTERS--LOVE!
- Thanks Jennifer for testing prep! Oh MY!
- Thanks to all K-2 teachers and students who have gotten all their testing done and being patient with 3-5 testing! Thank you!
