Foskett Ranch Elementary Newsletter
February 27, 2019
NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL...
Last week I realized a typo after the newsletter was sent to you about the second trimester report card. Students will take report cards home on Friday, March 8th.
Today we kicked of Read Across America Week - Soarin' into Space - with a laser show about lasers in space. Students enjoyed the show. Thank you for supporting PTO fundraising which provided the funds for this show.
Thank you to Mrs. Silhi for volunteering to lead our annual *Father/Daughter* and *Mother/Son* dances and to those that signed up to lead a sub committee. We are finalizing dates for the events and will let you know as soon as possible. If you would like to help at these dances, please let the office know, and we will get you in contact with Mrs. Silhi. Proceeds from the dances help to offset the costs of the 5th grade Fort Bragg trip in October.

What is Futsal?
Futsal originated in Uruguay and was quickly adopted throughout South America. It is now played all over the world and is growing rapidly in the United States.
Why is it so great?
Futsal is the ultimate game for helping players to develop skillful and creative tactics, foot skills, and ball control. Futsal is a fast-paced and exciting game that creates players that think quickly on the field and perform well under the pressure of a fast moving game. With on the field teams no larger than 5 vs 5, players are constantly involved in the action and touching the ball on a basketball style court, which has less space than a normal soccer field, encouraging control, finesse and high energy!
The district has approved and published 2 years of school calendars, click for details.
