Transition Manual
In preparation for our training update for IEP Transition considerations, I am sending two attachments to you in email:
- The powerpoint presentation Pam will use
- The Transition Training Manual
Pam has asked that you access these electronically so we wouldn't have to print hard copies. If you could please bring your electronic device on PLC day to access these, that would be helpful. There will be additional handouts at the meeting as well. Feel free to take a sneak peak at the presentation - it may offer an opportunity to prepare your questions for Pam, as she will only have an hour with us for our meeting.
Last reminder - This training will count toward district professional development requirements for our current Corrective Action for Transition IEP errors, so please make sure you sign in at the PLC if you write Section 3 Transition Plans in any student IEP. Thank you!
Accommodations Time and Frequency
Just a reminder that time and frequency for accommodations should only include the anticipated "time spent" on the accommodation, not the time a student may be in your SE program. Extended time may include 5-25 min, 1-5 X week. It only accounts the extra time needed. Restatement of directions may include 1-3 min, 5-10 x week.
Medicaid - Logs current weekly
To clarify, billable service logs are current by the end of each week - you do not need to enter a log per student per week. Most students will have 2-4 billable services per month - slightly more if you have held an IEP, pulled a REED, completed an observataion, held a manifestation, etc... You still only complete one Printable Service Report dated by the last day of the month to send to Kim.
IEP Schedules - please watch dates
Kim has scheduled most of the IEP's due through December. PLEASE, carefully watch the schedules. Several of the December IEP's have been moved into November to accommodate scheduling concerns. Fortunately, you have a month or more of notice to allow plenty of time to prepare. As meetings are being scheduled across buildings, we are sending the full day of IEP's scheduled to you, so you can help facilitate timely transitions for subs to get to their next building or teacher efficiently. Thank you for your help with this!
