Reminder: No School
Important Message from our Nurse's Office
Reminder:
- Students who are sick during the school day must go through the nurse's office.
- School policy requires the school nurse to determine if a student is sick enough to be sent home.
- Students are not allowed to contact parents to pick them up without seeing the school nurse.
- Students who leave school for illness without being seen by the nurse may be marked as truant.
Behavior Systems Update
Our focus is to continue to work on building a community that is empathetic, supportive, and collaborative. We want adults and students to walk through the building feeling safe and supported. Therefore, we will extend advisory on 10/25 to remind students of the school-wide expectations.
The following topics will be covered:
Physical and Emotional Safety
Cell Phones
Bathrooms
Masks
Cafeteria
Passing Time
Additionally, we will open up the 8th grade set of bathrooms next week and complete regular sweeps to make sure they’re used appropriately. If they remain clean, we will let kids use the facilities on their own, and if they are not used properly, we will go back to bathroom supervision for the entire school day.
At home please support your student(s) by talking to them about school-appropriate behavior. Thank you for your time and collaboration, we greatly appreciate your support!

Parent Drop Off--AM Arrival
With AM traffic in mind, please work with your child to arrive to school with enough time for them to be in class by 7:30 AM.
PM Dismissal
- Students are only allowed to ride the bus they are assigned by our transportation department. For COVID safety reasons, students are not allowed to ride alternate busses this school year.
The Library
- Often students go to the Washington County library after school to wait for parents.
- Please remember that this is off school property--and managed by Washington County and their library staff.
- Students who are not following expectations are subject to Washington County Library policies--which may include law enforcement intervention.
Parent Pickup
- It takes all of us working together to make this a smooth process. Please remember to follow these procedures during PM pickup.
- Pull ahead as far as possible on the yellow curb to allow as many cars to move off of 10th street as possible.
- Only pick kids up on the yellow curb. Do not ask your kids to cross traffic to get to you. This puts everyone at risk.
- Follow the exit lanes all the way around versus taking a shortcut down the parking lanes.
You are encouraged to watch this video as a reminder of our drop off and pick up process.
Heating/Cooling Updates
Hello Skyview Families,
As part of our school renovations, we have updated heating and cooling systems. These systems are complicated and with any new system, it takes time to balance the heating and cooling in the building, meaning we will experience some heating and cooling highs and lows over the course of the next several months. This week the 7th grade house had their share of heat and the issue was resolved in a few hours.
After speaking with the construction team, this will likely happen again before the building is completely renovated starting the Fall of 2022. The building has six different phases during construction so there are a lot of moving parts. Please make sure to have your student dress accordingly with layers if necessary.
Our school team and construction team are monitoring systems closely and will work to resolve issues as they arise as soon as possible to keep the building as comfortable as possible. And thank you for your continued patience.
Sincerely,
Lynn Pham
Principal
