Mrs. Walters News
Hello Bushnell Families~
A public service Announcement! We have noticed an uptick in students bringing electronic devices to school. Additionally, children are bringing toys, stuffed animals, Pokemon cards, and other toys and trinkets. Please keep these items at home. They are a distraction and can be disruptive when they get lost or stolen.
It's Staff Appreciation Week next week! Our PTO has planned some incredible fun to show Bushnell staff how grateful we all are for what they do every day for our children. You should have received some items outlining how you and your children can be part of the fun! I've included the letter below. There is also a signupgenius for donations if you'd like to help in that way. http://TINYURL.COM/SIGNUPSAW
As part of next week, there are some fun dress up days:
Monday- silly socks or no socks
Tuesday- Teachers are T-eriffic! (wear t-shirt, teal, tennis shoes...)
Wednesday- Wacky Wednesday (mix/match, crazy hair...)
Thursday- wear something bright colored
Friday- wear something backwards
THANK YOU for supporting FOOD FIGHT 2023 with donations of food and paper products, to benefit FROM’s Food Pantry! This program benefits students and families in the Lowell Area Schools’ District throughout the year. Did you know…
FROM’s food pantry provides an average of 1,854 servings of fresh produce each month; 450 pounds of produce each week.
Families leave with an average of 10 grocery bags of food each visit, up to two times per month.
FROM’s newest program is the Farm Market sold 44,197 items in 2022. Apples continue to be one of the most popular items.
FROM’s food pantry is accessed four ways: through a Mobile Food Pantry on the last Saturday of the month; the Fulton Street pantry, and the Commodities program, and a Farm Market in their Food Pantry
During the 2022 food fight, LAS students collected 6,767 items and $4,300 Our goal for this year is to collect 8000 items and $5,000. We can do it! Will Lowell Middle School and Murray Lake lose the trophy they earned last year? Find out at the end of the school year!
This week, FROM needs your help in donating needed paper products and personal care items: shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap and sanitizer, paper towels, paper plates, deodorant. Each item contributed gets our school one point closer to the traveling trophy! Monetary donations can also be given, and school will tally 4 points per dollar. Here is a link to donate: https://www.mygiving.net/campaign/ff2023
You can also support FROM by eating out at one of the local restaurants that will be donating a portion of their sales to support Food Fight!
