Students in Te Waka Manaaki have continued with their weekly music lessons which have been great for the body and the mind and a positive way to start the day.

The focus of learning for this term has been on transferring social skills to an authentic context. This includes class trips to the airport, library and other great locations in NP.

The Te Waka Manaaki inquiry focus has been to look at Change. Students have seen caterpillars metamorphosize into butterflies, fizzy drinks become geysers and skittles transform into rainbows.

Students have been working hard to organise a special morning tea to acknowledge their whanau. They did a great job planning and preparing delicious treats for this event.

“Being a family means you are a part of something wonderful.”

Congratulations to Jordan Munisamy and Tori Marie Hana Wetere have become key members of the school kapa haka team, as part of Culture is The Widening of the Mind. They have been learning new waiata and actions relevant to our hapu, Ngāti Te Whiti.
