Back to School Night
Our Back to School Night for 1st-5th grade students is Tuesday, August 23rd, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Session 1 starts at 5:30pm and session 2 at 6:00pm.Come and join us early for a yummy dinner, and visit our book fair and classrooms!
Bookfair Information
Our book fair starts on August 22-26th! You can buy books online or in person. The book fair is open 30 minutes before, during, and after school for students. Parents are welcome to come before and after school too. You can visit and purchase books during our Back to School Night!How do I buy books online?
Go to http://scholastics.com/fair . In the search button, type in "West Orange Elementary." Next, select our school from the options listed (address 243 S. Bush street). You will be guided to our Scholastic Book fair page! If you need help, call our front office or stop in person!

Answer the Weekly Math Challenge for a chance to win 10 Warrior Bucks. You must show your work and explain how you got your answer to Principal Murray!
TK and Kindergarten
Mrs. Lewis has 15 students on Wednesday. She gets 3 more students. How many students does Mrs. Lewis have in all?
First and Second Grade
A bowl holds 16 oranges and 4 apples. Children eat 9 apples. How many oranges are left in the bowl?
Third to Fifth Grade
Carly reads a book with 32 chapters. She has 8 days to read it. She wants to read the same number of chapters each day. How many chapters should she read each day?

In addition, all students who participated will receive a certificate and a raffle ticket (1 for each week the goal was met) for our daily drawings starting Monday. We are soooooo proud of their hard work and want to celebrate their growth!

New Families: What is IReady?
i-Ready is an online program for reading and/or mathematics that will help your student’s teacher(s) determine your student’s needs, personalize their learning, and monitor progress throughout the school year. i-Ready allows your teacher(s) to meet your student exactly where they are and provides data to increase your student’s learning gains. i-Ready consists of two parts: Diagnostic and Personalized Instruction.
