Staff Reminders
PLEASE BE MINDFUL OF BEING ON TIME
I want to thank those who are consistently on time to professional development each week as well as arriving to school in time to prep for your day.
As we move into the final quarter of the semester, it is just as important today and it was in August to be on time.
Professional Development starts at 7:00 a.m. Your contract day starts at 6:50 a.m. and end at 2:35.
AzMerit Prep
- This week is the first week you should be implementing AzMerit prep into your lessons one day a week. Please have the math completed by Thursday so math teachers can answer any questions. English will be embedded in what you are already doing.
- By being able to effectively highlight and use the calculator, students will experience greater success. Please complete pre-test to provide our students exposure to the various tools that are provided.
STAR PROGRAM
Teachers should have already shown it video in their classes and discussed with students. If you have not done this, please do so on Monday.
Why is Consistency So Important
The hardest thing about skateboarding is consistency: The slightest flick of your foot or gust of wind can send your board flying, so it's really anybody's game out there.
Shaun White
What if we took Shaun White's quote and made it applicable to us. It might sound something like this:
The hardest thing about managing students is being consistent with school and classroom expectations. The few times you let something slide creates a battle between you, your students, and your colleagues. If it gets too out of hand, it disrupts learning.
Remember we must stay consistent through the end, from cell phones, earbuds, sweep, to your own classroom expectations.
