Bill Gates was born on October 28, 1955 in Seattle, Washington. He showed interest in computer programming at age thirteen. He and his friend (and partner in later business) Paul Allen had talked about the programming and after college they started making the Microsoft Corporation.

He attended Harvard in 1974. He wrote an article about the Altair 8800 computer that lead him to drop out of college and develop software. In 1979 Gates and Paul Allen founded Microsoft.
