MANDATORY SPEAKER REMINDER!!
TONIGHT, 10/28 @ 8:00 PM in the Ferguson Concert Hall
- The second speaker in the President's Speaker Series is Mr. Gary Haugen, President and CEO of the International Justice Mission
Gary Haugen serves as President and CEO of International Justice Mission. IJM is a human rights agency that secures justice for victims of slavery, sexual exploitation and other forms of violent oppression. IJM lawyers, investigators and aftercare professionals work with local governments to ensure victim rescue, to prosecute perpetrators and to strengthen the community and civic factors that promote functioning public justice systems.
Mr. Haugen received a B.A. in Social Studies, magna cum laude, from Harvard University, and a J.D. from the University of Chicago, cum laude, where he was the Ford Foundation Scholar in International Law. He also served as the Visiting Scholar in Politics at the University of Adelaide in Australia.

Be on time!
Arrive to the Concert Hall no later than 7:45pm as the speaker will START at 8:00pm.
Behave respectfully!
Texting or talking (even whispering) during the presentation is not acceptable. Please do not distract others from this important opportunity. In addition, leaving the presentation early is not an option.
Manage your commitments!
Absence from a PLP Speaker is only permissible if a class, performance, or varsity game conflicts. Thank you for being active in other engagements on and off campus but be sure to demonstrate your commitment to the PLP by attending the mandatory speaker series. If you cannot attend the speaker you must let a PLP staff member know and must view the presentation available on video in the Library two to three days after the speaker.
Dress appropriately!
Demonstrate your respect for the speaker and the University by dressing well. You will be sent back to change if your clothing is inappropriate.
