Instant Alert Sign Up
We have been fortunate so far with winter, however, there is no guarantee that will continue! Please make sure you are signed up to receive alert phone calls for delays or cancellations. Below is the link to a PDF document with directions on signing up for the alerts. http://www.otsegoknights.org/files/Enrollment_Paren t_Helpful_Information.pdf
Also, check your local television and radio stations. For those of you on Twitter, Mr. Koch always posts information there too.
Yearbook Pictures
Any organization, sports team, club, ect. not organized and sponsored by the school that would like to have group or candid pictures in the yearbook must have them submitted to Mrs. Baughman by JANUARY, 28. The pictures must be submitted electronically. Make sure to include the name and grade level of your organization/team/club. Please share this information with any organizer that may not receive this update.
Be Prepared for Cold Weather
Since the weather is much colder now, PLEASE make sure your child is dressed appropriately! This includes a heavy coat, not just a sweatshirt. We do have indoor recess anytime the temperature, with wind chill, is below 20 degrees, but students are still outside before and after school.
If for any reason, you don’t have coats, hats, or gloves, please contact the school. We have donated items and other resources so all of the students can dress properly.

Community Forums
Members of the Otsego Team will once again be conducting community forums this spring. Otsego parents, staff, and community are invited to attend one of the informational sessions below. We need to hear from parents and community members on the things we are doing right and what needs improvement. We will update the community on key initiatives that we have implemented this year and look ahead to the next school year. We will also provide a financial overview of the past several years and will discuss the financial forecast. You will have the opportunity to ask the team questions and make suggestions on how we can strengthen the Otsego Local School District. “Our Students, Our Community, Our Success”

Counselor's Corner
Mini-Meetings
This month and into February I will be visiting every classroom to meet with each student for about a minute. The purpose of these mini-meetings is (1) for me to be able to meet with every student and build rapport, (2) to check in with each student and see how their school year is going, (3) to catch any students who may need help but are afraid or won't ask for help and (4) to gather data for the school counseling program.
There are no school-wide programs for the counseling program this month.
For more information on school-wide programs & the Elementary Counseling program, visit Miss Mikesina's Website at http://oesknightscounselor.weebly.com/

REMINDERS
SAVE ALUMINUM CAN TABS
Please help our students by collecting tabs from aluminum cans. Each tab is easy to remove and can be donated to the Ronald McDonald House. The tabs help fund various projects for Ronald McDonald Houses and its visitors. Send the tabs in a bag to the school and our students will do the rest!
SAVE BOX TOPS AND CAMPBELLS SOUP LABELS
You can help the school earn money for supplies by collecting Box Tops and Campbells labels from soup, juices and snacks. Our PTO collects and counts them and puts the money straight back into the school.
