Mrs. Kruse's News
I hope this newsletter finds your family safe and well. November is a time when we reflect on the many blessings we have in our lives. I am so grateful for our wonderful students, supportive families and a caring, knowledgeable staff. to work with each day. Thank you for your partnership.
Parent Teacher Conference sign up information was sent out last week. Please schedule a parent-teacher conference with your student(s) teachers to hear about your child's progress. It is so important for us to work together to support our students' growth.
Superintendent Garner recently sent out a letter to our middle school and high school families with target dates for secondary students to return face to face to the classroom. The middle school target date is Monday, November 30. Please see the notes below to begin to prepare for your student(s) return to school. Stay tuned for more information and updates.
Please review this month's information for additional important dates and information happening in the next few weeks.
Sincerely,
Jodi Kruse

Beginning to prepare for a return to school
- Check your emergency contacts in ParentVue. Make sure those contacts are people who are willing and able to pick up your student in a timely manner if they become sick at school or exhibit COVID symptoms.
- Students should have their own set of supplies to avoid having to share. When sharing is necessary, items will be sanitized between uses.
- Drinking fountains are closed, so a water bottle labeled with the student's name is recommended.
- Masks must be worn by all school staff, visitors, and by all students, on buses, inside school buildings, and anywhere on school grounds, including outside when individuals may be within six feet of each other.
- Reusable masks should be labeled with the student's name; if they do not have a mask, a disposable one will be provided.

Good mental health is just as important as good physical health. We hope your families are both physically and mentally well. This graphic contains some suggestions from believeperform.com to help you help your child take care of their mental health. Please also know that the school counselors are available to help support your children.
Feed the Bus!
Each year EMS holds a highly successful FISH Food Drive to stock the shelves of our Grand Blanc families in need. Since we are unable to hold our traditional food drive this year, we encourage all families to make a donation, big or small, to Feed the Bus on November 21st (see details below). We will also be accepting donations of non-perishable food, toiletries, and cleaning products at the East Middle School drop box located outside our main entrance from November 1st through November 20th. Items dropped off at EMS will be delivered to Feed the Bus.
