From the Principal's Desk...

Parents and Guardians,

As many of you know, the Ohio Health Department has announced new guidelines for school related quarantines. The new guidelines state that students who are deemed a close contact (anyone within six feet of the positive case) at school may remain in the classroom as long as they wear a face covering for 14 days and self monitor for symptoms. I know that masking at school is a very polarizing topic with both sides offering valid points. Unfortunately, no matter what decision is made, families will be upset. My ultimate goal is to keep the students and staff at St. John the Baptist School safe, and I am doing my best to fulfill that goal. I have decided that as a school we will stay mask mandatory at this point. We have had four positive cases in the school in the last week. When we return from Thanksgiving Break, I will reevaluate our cases and determine if a mask mandate is still necessary due to the number of positive cases in our building. I appreciate your understanding and patience as this is not an easy decision to make.

I hope everyone has a great week.
