Great News on the Private Ballot Question!
Thank you to everyone who signed the Ballot Petition. We submitted well over the required number of signatures and now the question of, "Should the Town enter into a lease with the MBTA?" WILL be a private ballot question at Town Election on Monday, May 15, 2017 from 7 am- 8 pm! Mark your calendars!
Town Meeting is on May 1st. The Town Meeting vote is important...yes, we need you to vote TWICE!
Both votes are advisory for the Selectmen so we need to voice our opinions at Town Meeting through questions, for example, by asking if this is eventually going to become a three town (Medfield to Needham) trail, by asking if the environmental liability is worth the risk and asking how this trail will truly impact our neighbors?
Then on May 15th, show our views on the private ballot vote! The Selectmen need to hear from as many registered voters as possible to help them make their decision on whether to sign the 99- year lease with the MBTA.
Warrant Open Hearing on Monday, March 20th at 7:30 pm- Environmental Petition
There will also be a presentation by Town Counsel on the status of the MBTA lease. This is a great chance to ask questions BEFORE Town Meeting.
