The Stallion Stampede

Janie Stark Elementary Parent Newsletter

November 27, 2022

Dear Stallion Families,

I hope you and your families had a wonderful and relaxing week! We are looking forward to continuing the holiday season with a few of our dress-up days and traditions we've established in the past. As always, participation is optional. Please do not feel like you need to participate.

The holidays are a great time to celebrate loved ones with laughter and joy. We look forward to a joyful holiday season with your children!

To the BEST of days,

Mrs. Putman

December Fun at Stark

For the month of December the staff will be enjoying holiday “theme” days to bring excitement and fun into the classroom. We invite the students to participate in a few of the fun days as well! This is, of course, optional. Please do not feel like your child has to participate. These are only meant to be an exciting way to countdown the days until the winter break:

  • Friday, December 2 - Holiday Headwear (see below)!

  • Wednesday, December 7 - College Colors Day!

  • Thursday, December 8 - Reindeer Day! Wear reindeer antlers

  • Monday, December 12 - Dress like the 1980’s for the 80th day of school

  • Thursday, December 15 - Polar Express Day; wear pajamas

  • Friday, December 16 - Wear a holiday shirt for class parties

Again, participation is completely optional. My goal is always to create an exciting learning environment where kids want to come to school! When students have fun learning, the likelihood of high academic achievement increases.

December Rodeo Pep Rally

Our new campus pep rally tradition will be this Friday! We will be celebrating our Stallions once a month at our campus-wide "Rodeo"! We will come together as a campus to celebrate our goals, share school spirit, and have a little fun!

These campus-wide pep rallies are for students only. Due to space and safety, visitors and volunteers will not be allowed.

You can help us by making sure your child arrives to school on-time so they don't miss a minute of the fun! AND this week we will have a Holiday Headwear contest. Each grade level will dress in a different holiday character hat!

  • Pre-K, Communications and Support Center wear Reindeer ears!
  • Kinder wear Reindeer ears!
  • 1st and 2nd grade wear Elf ears or hats!
  • 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade wear Santa hats!

Coffee with the Principal

What is Leader in Me? What are the 7 Habits? What are WIGS? Come join Mrs. Putman on Wednesday, December 7th for Coffee with the Principal. She will be sharing information on the Leader in Me program here at Stark and how we are transforming our school culture and academics through this evidence-based, comprehensive model that builds leadership and life skills in students, creates a high-trust school culture, and lays the foundation for sustained academic achievement.

Class Party Dues

Help us facilitate awesome whole school parties this year! Our party days are the Holiday party, Valentine’s Day Party, and the End of the Year Bash. A donation of $10/child helps fund ALL THREE of these parties. Please donate online through this link, or send $10 with your child to give to the office. Grade Level lead parents will be working with room parents to plan the party. You will receive more information about volunteering and/or attending the parties closer to the party date!

Have questions? Email the Room Parent Coordinator, Cassandra Hatfield
