Writing Essay Contest
Mrs. Keefe, Mrs. Ward, and Mrs. Kingsley will have hosting a writing contest to help celebrate the Thanksgiving season. Students will have the opportunity to create a writing piece in four different categories: poetry, essay, letter, or historical fiction (using personification).
A winner from each category will be selected. Please encourage your child to participate in this activity. The winners in each category will read their writing piece with the class. Here is a link to the specific requirements.
Math
We didn't get a chance to complete the checkbook activity this week, but will start this on Monday. Students will need to write checks and balance their register to gain clues. They will use these clues to crack a code! In addition, next week we will continue our study of decimals by looking at the properties of addition: commutative, associative, and distributive. We are planning on taking Quiz 2 on Thursday, November 17th, but like always, please refer to the homework page for updates.
