Important Back-to-School Information! Action Required
No Excuses University @ Bear Creek
5th Grade iPad Drop Off & Chromebook Exchange
In order to begin the year smoothly we need to collect your child's iPad and provide them with a Chromebook. We will collect iPads and distribute new devices through our main drive on August 5th and 6th.
Please bring your child's iPad to Bear Creek on either Wednesday, August 5th or Thursday, August 6th between 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. A staff member will collect the iPad and bring a Chromebook to your car.
*To speed up the process we ask that parents tape a slip of paper to the iPad that has their child's first and last name.
**We understand that this may cause an inconvenience but we ask that you make every effort to drive through on one of the two times listed above so there is not a disruption to learning.
PK-5th Supply/Tech Pick Up
On Friday, August 14th we will have designated times for each grade level to come through the drive through to collect any supplies/materials needed for remote learning, wave to their teachers, and be issued a device if applicable. Our PTA will also be on site to distribute EPI Supply packs for those that purchased them back in June.
*We will provide more information as we approach August 14th knowing that plans could change based on the current 2020-2021 school model.

*4th Graders will be using Chromebooks this year but they will begin the year with their iPad and transition to Chromebooks during the first couple of weeks of school. We wanted them to start the year with a device they were comfortable with. More info to come!
Don't Forget to Register!
Families can continue to complete registration for the 2020-2021 school year. All registration will need to be completed online.
Even with Tuesday's order from TCPH, families will still choose either in-person or remote learning for their student(s) during registration. All students will begin the year virtually, but when in-person instruction is available, those that choose that option will receive instruction on campus.
Choosing your student(s) instructional option is critical to GCISD in preparing for when instruction begins. The District must have this information when planning for master schedules, classroom space, staffing and how to best meet the needs of students when they return. While the District is asking parents to indicate a preference now, families will have an opportunity to update their selection at a later date.
