Wind Genius

What is Air Pressure Caused By:
Air pressure is caused by:
The differences air pressure are caused by the uneven heating of earth
The greater the difference of air pressure, the faster the movement of air
Jet Stream
The winds blows from east to west in the form of jet streams often the flow starts to shift near the south and the north and. Jet streams follow the boundaries between hot and cold air.
Trade Winds
Trade wind get their usage from the sailors in the sea.
Polar Easterlies
They are formed by sinking, cold air moving away from the poles, making cold temperatures.
Polar Easterlies are also called (Polar Hadley cells)
Global and Local Winds
Global winds are the combination of pressure belts and the Coriolis Effect.
Global winds are caused from:
- The heat currents in a fluid: convection, the convection currents on a large scale makes global winds.
Local winds are winds that generally move short distances that can blow in different directions
Local winds are caused by geographic features that produces differences in temperature differences.
Doldrums
Doldrums:
Are located at the equator where no winds blow, because of the warm, rising air creating areas of low pressure
Sea Breezes
Sea breeze:
High pressure is made over the sea in the day and low pressure over the land due to uneven heating
The air moves from the sea, to the land because of uneven heating
Land breeze:
Is the low pressure that occurs over the sea at night, high pressure over the land due to the uneven heating of the earth
It causes the wind to move from the land to the sea, making a land breeze
