Week 6
As usual, every last Friday of the month here we celebrate This is Me Day - a special day for students and staff to express themselves and share with others what makes them unique through dressing up. Other highlights of the week include FS going on an exciting pirate treasure hunt, our swim sqaud competing in a gala again for the first time in 2 years and welcoming Miss Rachel Brown to our Inclusion team.
In light of restrictions that have been in place in the last few years, we recognise that a lot of parents may have missed out on the chance to visit our school and tour our wonderful learning spaces. We would therefore like to extend an invitation to you for our Open Evening on Tuesday 7th June so that you can view our facilities and find out more about the plans and strategies that we have in place for next academic year.
We are once again partnering up with ISM Sports to offer a comprehensive Summer Multi Activities Camp, open to students of all ages right here at DHA. This is a great opportunity for students of all ages to keep active, practise new skills and most importantly, have fun over the summer holidays. Make sure you sign up early for special rates, more details can be found further below.
We hope that you enjoy a relaxing weekend with your family and friends and look forward to welcoming you back to school again next Monday.

Inclusion & Well-being
Thank you to all of our parents that attended our well-being workshop with our Social Worker & School Counsellor Miss Rachel Brown on Wednesday. Pastoral support is a priority for us at DHA and we are eager to ensure you and your child feel supported at DHA. As always, if you have any well-being concerns for your child, please do not hesitate to reach out to your class teacher, Ms Rachel Brown, our Designated Safeguarding Lead Miss Hayley Burrows, or any member of our Senior Leadership Team.
Our team at Sensation Station have an exciting Summer Camp starting on the 25th of July- check out their brochure to see if it may be of interest to you!
A huge shout out to Maryam Al Saggaf in Year 8 for achieving an Inclusion Champion Award this week at assembly. Maryam acted as an outstanding role model and ambassador for Inclusion recently when a pupil of determination visited her class. We are incredibly proud of you Maryam and how well you represented DHA’s ethos, vision and values! Well done!
PE & Sport at DHA
This week our students finished their basketball unit by taking part in games and assessing themselves and others. We continued to work on front crawl/backstroke kicking in swimming, while some groups progressed to breast stroke kick and arms.
Our swim squad students also participated in their first gala in over two years. They put in a wonderful team performance and finished third out of six - a brilliant achievement considering the size of some of the more established schools we were up against. A huge congratulations to the individual winners on the day also.
Next week our focus turns to basketball. Our U11 boys are set to play at Arbor school on Thursday 2nd June. We look forward to reporting on the game in next week’s newsletter.
