ARSA Calendar for Upcoming Events!
Thank you to our awesome TEI Expert team: Mrs. Horne, Mrs. Gill, and Mr. Stephens
Each week administrators and instructional coaches will highlight the growth in the instructional practices, creativity, purposeful and meaningful practices that promote student success. It is important that we recognize ALL the Excellence in Teaching we have in all of areas of our academic programs. The highlights are on a rotation throughout the year and each content/department will be the focus for the week.
Mr. Davis, 7th Grade Texas History
This week the Social Studies department would like to spotlight Mr. Davis. Mr. Davis is in his 2nd year of teaching and is constantly working on perfecting his craft. This week Mr. Davis attended two separate sessions on perfecting his exemplars. Monday the Northeast Network presented the Exemplar DOL training and Tuesday Ms. Lewis presented Exemplar training to the IGNITE Academy. After guiding him to the sample ACP items on the Dallas ISD Assessment page (assessment.dallasisd.org), Mr. Davis was able to make sure that his own DOL and mastery quiz questions aligned to the rigor of how each SE would be tested.
He was then able to work through perfecting his own exemplars to ensure his teaching would be aligned to the rigor of his ACP. Although his previous exemplars resembled answer keys, his latest exemplars showed annotations and student thought processes. Thank you Mr. Davis for being open to adding the additional effort needed to guarantee student success.
- Send text and picture to Ms. Taylor via email. (pictures that are texted will not be included, only emailed pictures)
- Subject line must include Spotlight.
- Due by every Friday, 5pm.
Spotlight on ARSA ELAR Teachers
I would like to spot light the ELAR teachers. The past 3 weeks I have had 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students in the library learning where to locate graphic novels, fiction, and non-fiction books and check books out. I appreciate the time all ELAR teachers have taken to bring their students to the library
Spotlight on Ms. Lewis & Mrs. Hawkins
I have asked both ICs to work on additional tasks over the last two weeks and I appreciate their diligence, flexibility, and focus. Truly a testament to One Band. One Sound through teamwork!
Spotlight on Mr. Bables
Mr. Bables always has such a positive attitude and kind approach with every situation thrown his way. He really knows how to reach the kids by getting to know each one of them. Also, he is always eager to help in any situation he can. He goes above and beyond outside! He helps us move kids in the building each and every morning whether it is rain or shine. After school, he is outside helping kids move off of campus safely. He really takes the time to listen to your needs and always finds a helpful solution. He impacts students and teachers each day. He helps our campus truly run smoothly. We couldn't do it without you! Thank you for your dedication, patience, and passion. - Mrs. Takats
Spotlight on Mrs. Parada, Mrs. Zapata, and Ms. Garcia
I asked Mrs. Zapata to work on Graduate Together task this week and it had a short turn around time. She rallied the team and got the work done and spent some of her own funds! The inserts were tedious and I truly thanks the whole team for designing, cutting them out, and assembling the inserts! Lot of work!
The scholars really appreciated their lanyards
Spotlight on Sgt. Salter and Ranger Cadets
A special thank you to Sgt. Salter for his thoughtful words shared in honor of Sept. 11th. Thank you for taking the time to craft words of reflection as well as being caring towards one another. Our LCC Cadets are on time every morning, ready to lead the campus in our Pledge of Allegiance and Texas Flag pledge.
Your leadership and standard of excellence is of value to ARSA! Thank you for being a model for our ARSA Rangers.
Spotlight on One Band. One Sound ~ Learning and Leading @ ARSA
I have thought about this the last couple weeks of school and I wanted to take a moment to shine a spotlight on the One Band. One Sound. we have taken this year around sharing our learning. Teachers and staff members are leading the work with others and we are building our capacity to best serve our scholars and parents.
Truly amazing! It has been impressive and I did not want one more Legend to pass without me making a specific note of this.
It is tremendous!
