WOODWORKING
BY: AUSTIN KRUEGER
WHY I CHOSE THIS CAREER
The reason I chose this career is because I enjoy working with wood and different types of tools. I also enjoy designing and creating everyday items for average people to use.
WHAT A WOODWORKER DOES
A woodworker makes chairs, tables, stools and other types of furniture
How to start. Skills
Traditionally, a person needs to be apprenticed by a master woodworker. The woodworker will train the apprentice until he is ready to be a woodworker. A good woodworker needs a good eye to be able to fix any imperfections on one of there pieces.
Education
To become a woodworker today, you need to get a Bachelor's degree in college. A Bachelor's degree takes about three years of schooling.
What branch of science?
I think that woodworking falls under the physical branch of science because all of the furniture and some of the materials are made by man such as the tools that are used.
What I found interesting
Something that I found interesting about this career, is that I got to learn about different types of wood. There is hardwood like Pine, Cherry and Mahogany. There is also softwood like Spruce, White Pine and Maple.
