Feedback from Butler Students' Visit
Feedback:
- I love this school!
- A lot of student identity, what they see of themselves and what they are proud of.
- Every classroom had students working either 1:1, groups, etc. Lots of trust.
- 2nd grade students going back and forth between classrooms and teachers sharing students.
- Student led centers, very comfortable, students self-regulating and taking breaks
- Overwhelming sense of peace; Teacher/student relationships, calm, self motivated
- Guiding questions showing the process of all the projects hanging in the halls. Project documentation shows "openness" that there is more to come.
- Many teacher/student made anchor charts versus store bought posters - showed student involvement
- A sense of flexibility and willingness to follow the child.
Email from Butler Student:
Hello,
I was one of the students from Cathy Hartman's class that came today. I wanted to take a second to personally thank you for the experience. I honestly almost had tears in my eyes listening to you explain Eagle Elementary and all that it stands for. I love how you focus on encouraging every student to be their best and being "strong in every way". I saw some things that I have been needing to see in the education field, and was just taken back by the school. In the classrooms I popped into, there were very few behavior outbursts or disruptions which gave way to such a sense of peace and purpose in each room. I will hold this experience with me for quite some time! Thank you again for this opportunity.

Often times we get bogged down forget to take a moment to recognize all great work we are doing and all strengths that we can build on. Sometimes it just takes the fresh perspective of a few young, pre-service educators to point it out to us. I was honored, humbled and proud to have the opportunity to be your spokesperson for everything that you all are doing to make Eagle great!
Custodian Daily/Weekly Cleaning Checklist
Iris put together the following list to share with you all. With John accepting a new job in Noblesville, our new provider is currently working to fill his position.
Please help Iris and Rick out by having your students clean up after themselves. Floors and desks should be clear of trash before students leave for the day. Sinks should be clear of debris (we really don't want anything much more than water going down the sink). Please also have furniture organized and tidy to assist with ease of vacuuming, etc. These are good, "Take pride in your learning space" lessons for us to reinforce with kiddos.
Please take a look at the list below and let me know if you have any questions or suggestions.

America's White Table
The White Table is set in many mess halls as a symbol for and remembrance to service members fallen, missing, or held captive in the line of duty.Solitary and solemn, it is the table where no one will ever sit.As a special gift to her Uncle John, Katie and her sisters are asked to help set the white table for dinner. As their mother explains the significance of each item placed on the table Katie comes to understand and appreciate the depth of sacrifice that her uncle, and each member of the Armed Forces and their families, may be called to give.It was just a little white table...but it felt as big as America when we helped Mama put each item on it and she told us why it was so important."We use a Small Table, girls," she explained first,"to show one soldier's lonely battle against many.We cover it with a White Cloth to honor a soldier's pure heart when he answers his country's call to duty.
