Mrs. Gorman's Weekly News
Week of 10/2-10/6
Math
This week, we are wrapping up our Module 1. We will take the Module 1 End of Module Assessment on Wednesday and Thursday of this week. We completed a review in class, and scholars will be allowed to use their review on the test. Please encourage them to look over it, just in case they don't understand something that we did.
Our next module will be on converting metric units to smaller units. This will be a very short module, consisting of only 6 lessons. We should be done with it and on to Module 3 by mid-October.
Science
Last week, we completed Chapter 1. The students had a great time participating in a Kahoot! game review. They were allowed to use their notes and review on the test, and they did very well overall. I will keep the assessments for now and will send them home once I have been able to complete an analysis of the scores. Watch the video below to see how we reviewed!
This week, we will begin Chapter 4. Chapter 4 is all about the properties of matter. Students will do some explorations about matter, learn about how it can be described and categorized, and how matter can change.
Homework
Below is the video to help with this week's homework. I have discussed with students that they should not wait until the end of the week to watch the video, but rather watch it early in the week so that they have time to get help if they need it.

Classroom Needs
Headphones
Each scholar should have a pair of headphones to use in class. These can be small earbuds. They will keep them in their backpack. This will be very helpful to students when doing work on the iPad or computer. Please see me if you have any questions.
