Joining your child in the Cafe??
Please call our office by 9:30am if you are joining your child in the café during lunch. Our café manager would like a head count of how many adults will be in the café whether you are ordering lunch or just sitting with your child.
A current background check and viewing of the anti-bullying video are also required to be in the café during lunch. If you are unsure if your background check is current, please call our school office and we would be glad to help you.
Tardy Reminder
If you are bringing your child to school at 8:55am or later, they are considered tardy.
Please come in with your student and sign them in. If there are no teachers outside to welcome your child, that is an indicator to bring your child into the school.
Thanks for keeping our students safe.
Yearbook Orders
We will no longer be accepting yearbook orders at school. All school orders were due February 1st. If you would like to purchase a yearbook, you may still order online until March 16th at www.inter-state.com/yearbook with code 04551P.
All students should have brought home a Read-a-Thon packet on Monday! Please consider supporting our school library through this fundraiser. Our week of reading starts on Monday, February 15th. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Hicks at: khicks@hse.k12.in.us
We are in need of gently used boys/girls pants (size 5-12) for the clinic. If you have any that you are looking to get rid of, would you consider donating them to the clinic?
Other donations needed:
· Saltines
· Animal Crackers
· Cheese Crackers
· Goldfish Crackers
· Pretzels
· Baby Wipes and Quart Size Baggies
If you are able to help, please have your child drop them off at the clinic.
Thank you!

CRES Fest Sponsorship...
Are you a local business owner? Do you know someone that is? The CRES PTO is putting a call-out to local business owners interested in sponsorship opportunities for CRES Fest. CRES Fest is a family-friendly event with games, food trucks, a silent auction, and more, that will take place on Friday, April 22, from 5:30-8:00 p.m. If your business is interested in being a part of this fantastic evening, please email us at cumberlandroadpto@yahoo.com.
Next Open Forum Meeting...
The next PTO Open Forum meeting be held on Tuesday, March 1st at 7:00 pm at Fishers Junior High School. Please note that the location will be changed for just this one meeting, as we partner with the Fishers Junior High, Sand Creek Elementary and Sand Creek Intermediate Schools for this joint meeting. District staff members, including Dr. Bourff, HSE superintendent, will be our guest speakers. He will be sharing information about upcoming referendum and why he recommended it to the HSE Board of Trustees.
We are looking forward to seeing a room full of Roadrunner parents and guardians at this meeting on March 1st at 7:00 at Fishers Junior High School to show the district how dedicated and amazing the CRES community is! Please note, no childcare will be provided at this meeting.
Attention Room Parents...
Due to the joint PTO meeting held at Fishers Junior High on March 1st, our next room parent meeting has been rescheduled. Our next meeting will be held Thursday, March 3rd at 7:00 pm in the Art Room. We hope to see all our wonderful room parents there, as we have a lot of information to share!

One Book, One School
“So let us wage a global struggle against illiteracy, poverty and terrorism and let us pick up our books and pens. They are our most powerful weapons. One child, one teacher, one pen and one book can change the world. Education is the only solution. Education First.” Malala Yousafzai.
While one book changing the world is a tall order, we hope one book can change our school for the better. CRES students, staff, and families will be embarking on a journey with “Dear Malala, We Stand with You” by Rosemary McCarty as our jumping off point. One book, One school. We will come together around this book to discover, discuss, and honor our heroes. Every student at CRES will begin this journey on February 26th. Thanks to our amazing Librarian, Kristin Hicks, every single staff member has a copy of the book to use in all parts of the curriculum over the coming months. We will have a culminating event and closure in May.
We know heroes come in many shades, shapes, and sizes. Heroes do not always fly or wear capes, they do not always fight with strength of body or personal wealth. Malala Yousafzai is a hero to countless people across the globe for her efforts to go to school and secure schooling for other young girls. We cannot wait to enrich the lives and learning of the children, families, and staff here at CRES as we honor Malala’s struggle and discover what makes a hero.
In this short clip, technology is used as a creative presentation tool. Watch to see how these students use Skitch and Puppet Edu to share the character traits they've found in their favorite fiction books!
Do you know what a geode is? These first graders sure do! With digital tools for learning, even these young students have been able to explore their interests, discover new ones, and share their learning beyond the classroom. Take a look at this clip - the iPads are one tool enabling the inquiry - but books and actual geodes play a big role as well!

Fishers Parks & Recreation Releases 2016 Summer Camp Programs
Summer is quickly approaching, which means many Fishers families are exploring options for their children. Fishers Parks & Recreation is excited to announce that the 2016 summer camp brochure is now live. This summer over 30 diverse camps run from the first week in June through the first week in August, meaning your child can enjoy a summer of fun at local parks.
Summer camps offer a well-rounded experience that includes the opportunity to learn new ideas, socialize with new friends and enjoy time outdoors. Each camp is built around a specific theme ensuring your camper is able to explore a topic they’re interested in learning about. Summer camp registration opens on March 1, and families are encouraged to keep a few things in mind leading up to registration:
- For ease when registering at the Fishers Parks & Recreation office (located at 11565 Brooks School Road), please complete your registration form before registration day. As a reminder, t-shirt sizes are listed in youth sizes.
- Discuss your child’s second choice. Summer camps fill quickly, and it’s always helpful to have a back-up camp in mind in case your first choice is already sold out.
- Registration can be completed online, but you’ll need your registration information. If you are having trouble logging into the website, please give our office a call today at (317) 595-3150.
Batter Up with Fishers Parks & Recreation this Spring
Registration is due by March 17 and captains should plan to attend a mandatory meeting on March 30 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Roy G. Holland Memorial Park building. Interested in playing as a free agent? Contact our staff and we can help you find the dream team you’ve been searching for.
Give yourself a reason to mingle with friends and get your heart rate up! After you’ve created an all-star roster head online to secure a spot, today!
“DIGITIZE HAMILTON COUNTY HISTORY” DAY SET AT LIBRARY
When a photograph dies, a part of history is lost. Do you have any historic old photographs of Noblesville or Hamilton County tucked away in boxes, drawers or cabinets? Any pre-1965 photographs of buildings, homes or structures that no long exist, or of special events such as church homecomings, family reunions, parades or gatherings held in local places?
Don’t let time and deterioration take a toll on those special pictures. On Saturday, February 20 between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., you are encouraged to bring your old photos to the Indiana Room at the Noblesville Library to have them scanned and digitized. You will retain the originals and receive digital copies on DVD or your own flash drive. With your permission, a digital copy will become part of the Indiana Room collection and Indiana Memory website. Copyrighted photos cannot be accepted. Each scanning session is limited to ten photos please. For those with larger collections, appointments can be made at a later time.
