Dear Robert Hunter families,
We had another great week at RH! Picture Day was this past week. If your child was absent, the make up Picture Day will be October 26. If you registered for school pictures, you will receive information via email about ordering. If you have any questions, please reach out to roberthunteryb@gmail.com.
After-school enrichment clubs have started, and students are having a great time learning with friends and teachers after school. Please remember to send a note if your child is not attending a club that they are scheduled to attend.
It was wonderful seeing so many families at the RH Halloween Fun Night! We are getting excited for our Halloween Parade on October 31st on the RH blacktop. We are also looking forward to the Walkathon next Friday, Oct. 21st. Please read more about the Walkathon in the PTO section below. Students are encouraged to wear yellow as we Walk on Sunshine and Radiate Respect!
As a reminder, this Tuesday will be an early dismissal day. Dismissal is at 1:20.
Have a great week!

Snapshots From The Week
Support Night
Oct. 20th is our Family Support Night. This is an information session for families of students who are enrolled in support services. This is an opportunity to meet your child’s support teacher and learn more about how to support your child at home. Families who are invited to this event should have received the flyer via email. If you have any questions, reach out to Mrs. Braynor or Mrs. Shirvanian.
Halloween
We are planning our Halloween parade for 10:00 on Oct. 31st. Children should come to school in their costumes, should they choose to participate. As you are choosing costumes, please remember that plastic weapons, such as guns and swords, may NOT be brought to school as part of a costume. Additionally, please be mindful that scary or revealing costumes leave lasting impressions on our youngsters. Your cooperation to keep our parade enjoyable for all is greatly appreciated. If you would prefer your child not to remain in their costume all day, please send in alternative clothing for him/her to change into after the parade. Families are invited to watch the parade on the blacktop if it is held outside. If it rains, we would need to move our parade indoors without family viewing.
Classrooms will also be having class parties. Homeroom parents only are permitted to enter the building for class parties.
Homeroom parents who are assisting must connect with teachers prior to the event for approved food and activities and permission into the building. Food items and ingredients should be shared with the teacher at least one week prior to the celebration. You must adhere to class allergy restrictions as well as the district wellness policy HERE in regards to food.
This includes:
Offering snacks that do not contain sugar as the first ingredient
No candy or spun sugar products
Juices offered should be 100% fruit juice.
If you would prefer that your child not participate in Halloween activities, please email your child’s teacher, so that we can plan alternate activities.
We are hiring!
If any of our families are interested in being a Teacher’s Assistant or Substitute, please consider applying! Substitutes are needed for classroom teachers, teacher assistants, and cafeteria aides. You can also reach out to Mrs. Braynor and Mrs. Shirvanian if you have any questions! If you are interested, you can apply on the district website HERE.

22nd Annual RH Walk-a-thon Fundraiser- Friday October 21st
The Robert Hunter Walkathon is coming up this Friday! Our theme this year is “Radiating Respect”, and the students will be “walking on sunshine” while our PTO provides music and activities to add to the fun! Note that the event will occur during the normal school day. We encourage all students and staff to wear yellow!
Pledges enable the PTO to provide assemblies, author visits, and additional learning experiences for the students. Last school year this event raised a record breaking $10,000... let’s do it again! Students will also be creating class posters to share at the Walkathon that represent how they show kindness and respect.
