Upcoming 6th Grade Family Night- Monday May 9th
Doors will open at 5:45. Please enter through the front or back school entrances. Program will begin at 6:00. The GHS Devil's Den will be at the event, so you can purchase some Greene Devil gear!
National School Nurse Day- Wednesday, May 11
Since 1972, National School Nurse Day has been set aside to recognize school nurses. National School Nurse Day was established to foster a better understanding of the role of school nurses in the educational setting. School nurses serve as a critical health hub for students and school staff managing complex conditions, identifying mental health issues, and leveling the field with regard to health disparities. During the worst of the COVID19 pandemic and now, they continue to go above and beyond keeping students and school personnel safe and healthy to achieve academic success.
School Nurse Day is celebrated on the Wednesday within National Nurses Week. National Nurses Week is May 6-12 each year. It is celebrated on Wednesday, May 11 this year. We are blessed to have two wonderful school nurses that take care of the students and staff at GMS. Be sure to show your appreciation to Nurse Rhonda Kershaw and Nurse Tracie Valentine this week!

Thank you for all of the special messages and gifts for Teacher Appreciation Week! Our staff was overwhelmed with your love and kindness throughout the week and on Thank a Teacher Thursday!
We would like to give a special thanks to our GMS GSIA for providing delicious Creamy Cup ice cream and to Aubrey's in Greeneville for donating a delicious lunch to our staff!

Lost & Found
Our lost and found has filled up! Please remind your child to check lost and found before the end of the school year. All items left after the last day will be donated.
GMS Will Be Closed For Construction Beginning May 27, 2022
We are very excited to share GMS will be getting some major improvements during the summer of 2022. Our HVAC system will be completely replaced along with all new and improved lighting throughout the school! Due to these major improvements, GMS will be closed beginning May 27, 2022 and will reopen in late July. Our summer learning camps and programs will be held at Greeneville High School.
During the time of our closure, you will still be able to contact GMS administration via phone and email. We will share specific contact information along with dates and times before closing this summer.
Please check our weekly newsletter, website, and social media accounts for updates about dates, times, and locations for summer activities and athletic tryouts and practices.
You might notice storage units on our property as the construction teams move supplies on property and begin work in unoccupied areas. Please avoid parking near storage units, so they are accessible and to prevent any damage to your vehicle or property when they are being used.
We appreciate your patience and understanding during construction!

GMS Lady Golf Team Captures School's First District Golf Title
The GMS Lady Devils continued their fabulous season with GMS Golf's first ever Girls' District Title! All girls contributed as Kylee Renner (44) placed 3rd out of all girls and was the lowest score for GMS. Brylee Catron (53) and Kamryn Renner (54) had strong scores for the Lady Devils.
The Lady Devils will compete as a team in Regionals this week.
GMS Baseball Team Finishes 2nd in Middle 10 Conference Tournament
Congratulations to the GMS Devils Baseball Team for coming in 2nd place in the Middle 10 Conference Baseball Tournament! The Devils will play next Saturday, details to be announced.
Athletic Physicals Opportunity for GMS Students
All students must have a current physical (after 4/15/22) to tryout and participate for GMS athletic teams. Here is a great opportunity to get your physical!
