FOUR SCOOPS!
SCOOP ONE
On Monday and Tuesday during advisory, 6th and 7th grade students will be learning about Kellogg’s honors classes and how to register for them for the upcoming school year. If your child is in need of increased challenge and rigor, consider signing up! We offer honors classes in English, science, and social studies. Here is a Google Slide presentation which includes information and the link to register: Registering for Middle School Honors Classes. Here is a direct link to the registration form: Kellogg Honors Classes Registration Form. The registration deadline is Thursday, March 25. Questions? Please contact Sarah Michet, Kellogg Gifted Specialist at samichet@rochesterschools.org.
SCOOP TWO
While we know school supplies can be hard to come by this time of year, we wanted to remind you of the school supply lists and highlight the most important pieces. To help mitigate risk, it would be ideal for students to bring many of their own supplies to class each day. This will minimize sharing of classroom supplies.

Student Mental Health Resource
Rochester Public Schools recognizes that we are all experiencing increased stress and worry during this time. In response, RPS is now partnering with community agencies to provide free virtual consultations to help address worries you might have about your child's mental wellness. These sessions will typically be with a community provider, not with an RPS staff member. Visit https://rochestermnschedule.as.me/ to schedule a 45 minute appointment with a trained mental health provider to discuss your concerns. These consultations can help you clarify what help your child might need and think about next steps. The mental health provider you meet with can connect you with resources for help. What is discussed during the consultation is confidential.
